Customer Review: CRAP DONT BUY LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE

I bought 3 Crap-tachi drills that came with 6 batteries. After a year and a half 5 of the batteries have gone bad. You think you got this great warranty with it you don't its a joke read the fine print, it only covers the drill it self, so what do you do with a drill with no batteries? I called the customer service line its even worst, The customer service agent told me I should have bough a Makita instead and I would have not had this problem. So I went down to there repair center and talked to the guy about it, he says the all this Hitachi stuff is junk, and they have nothing but problems with it. [...]

Hitachi's DS18DVF3 18-volt drill features a two-piece magnet motor and delivers 400-inch-pounds of torque to power through the toughest jobs with ease. It comes with two 1.4Ah batteries and offers 2-speed transmission controlled by a one-touch speed shift knob that allows the user to select between 0-400 or 0-1,200 rpms. It is one of the most compact and lightweight cordless drills in its class. Measuring just over 7.5-inches and weighing 4.4-pounds, it allow for greater flexibility and ease of use in tight or overhead spaces. The 1/2-inch keyless chuck offers quick and easy bit changes. A 22-stage clutch is incorporated for high torque and precision driving applications. It features Hitachi's patented 5-position belt hook with integrated bit holder for added convenience. And the new aggressive, ergonomic design, coupled with a non-slip rubber grip, provides more control, comfort and safety. Covered by Hitachi's industry leading 5-year warranty, this 18-volt drill is a safe bet for the long haul.The truth is, this drill/driver is a kick to use. When we wrapped our hands around it, it just felt goooood. Hitachi's hot new tool design makes this drill look like something out of a sci-fi flick, but it's got down-to-earth power and torque that, quite frankly, surprised us.
Pop a bit into the 1/2-inch keyless chuck and admire the two speed ranges of 0-400 in low and 0-1,200 in high, and even tough jobs are no match for its whopping 400 inch-pounds of torque and 22-position clutch. For all that power, it's pleasantly light, and if we had a couple hours of overhead work to do, we'd be happy to be using this. We're even impressed with the flashlight - it's plenty bright and stands solidly on its own. Batteries (not one, but two) charge up quick in the charger, and everything fits neatly into the carrying case. This is a nice combination set for the homeowner, do-it-yourselfer and the construction professional. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste
